Not Goat Weather

Goats hate wet weather.  Sometimes they don't even like walking on the wet grass in the mornings when there has been a heavy dew.  Parasites seem to take a larger toll on them in wet weather too.
The dogs don't appear affected by this at all.  They are actually enjoying the snow.
 The baby goats are not.
The 3 new bottle goats have graduated from the garage to the barn.  From left to right, Frosty, Pippen, Cinnabun, and Big Boy.  The last 3 are all the same age but defiantly not the same size.   Big Boy is nearly as big as Frosty who is 6 weeks older.   Sadly, we lost Snowflake.  Her and Frosty were doing so well, staying outside with the herd during the day and back in their pen at night to eat a handful of grain and get their bottle.  One day last week when it was time to come in for the night, Snowflake was bloated and died later that night.  Sometimes living on a farm can be a little tough.

Oh my! Those baby goats are so cute! Yikes snow! My daffodils are blooming like crazy! Easter was 75*! Needless to say we were on vacation in the snow! But, had a wonderful time.
