J inherited this wheelbarrow from a great aunt several years ago. He used it to haul feed at the barn until the wood holding the wheel split. Then he gave it to me. I've made use of in in the yard for about 5 years. I find I like growing the Wave Petunia in it best.
E got 2nd on Pep in western go-as-you-please out of 20. She only counts the 19 that finished the class as one girl started screaming and fell off when her horse started trotting. (she wasn't hurt)
V was 6th out of 18 in the hunter go-as-you-please, 5th in hunter pleasure and 5th in huntseat equitation. They are really improving with each competition.
Balloon flower.
I can't remember the name of this one but it came from a school fundraiser. I think it is from the onion family. It multiplies quickly.
These Easter Lillies are from church every year when we get one in memory of J's mother. I plant them in the same place each year and now have a nice collection.
I think it has helped so far, but it sure makes him look funny.

We went on a 3 hour trail ride today with J's dad. I don't think he had ridden that much in several years.

Daises from a co-worker. I asked her if she cuts them back after they bloom, she said yes and she also sprayed them with roundup. I might have to watch that they don't spread too much.
This was her favorite horse, a 16 hand tall mare. 
The jumps were 12-18 inches.
The instructor said she was a natural and couldn't believe she had never jumped before. Now if she can just do this with her own horse we'll be in business.

Two hours is not nearly enough time for a complete tour so I took to photographing the signs and sites so I could read it when I got home. 
Of course we had to go through the farm related sites.

A door to door vacuum salesman came to the house while I was at work and was here for 1 1/2 hours before I got home. J had just come to the house to get something to drink to cool off. It took me another 30 min. to finally get rid of him. J says he'll be tougher next time. (Although where we live hopefully this will be a long time off.)
this beautiful nest with 5 eggs. I don't know what kind of bird but the nest was right on the ground.
We managed to not step on it and no cows pooped on it so I hope the bird came back.
This is a potted lace cap hydrangea.
This is the first year this purple clematis has gotten over 1 foot tall. It is absolutely stunning now.
I thought I only had pink lupines but these came up and are purple.
I don't have as many foxgloves this year as is some years past, but they are still pretty.
Our 2 apple trees are loaded. Now the just have to make it through more wind and probably drought.
The window frames for the trellis came from an old house that had been torn down.
The horses acted a little tried after the first ride on Saturday.

E on Pep, one of the rare times she got in front of me. I rode a 26 year old horse someone else brought. 
The mountain laurel was blooming. It always reminds me of the laurel chain in high school where the top 10 girls in the senior class made a rope of laurel to hand to the top 10 junior girls. I am not sure what this accomplished other than getting us out of class for a week the traipse through the woods pruning these poor bushes.
