V has surprised us by wanting to apply for a summer position as a wrangle out west. There are several "Dude" ranches that advertise for summer help with their horse trail rides. One ranch requested a video of the applicant catching/grooming/tacking and riding a horse.
I've got all kinds of video of V riding but none of her doing the other work.
So she came home yesterday to work on getting some video she could edit for her application.
Thumper sure had plenty of grooming that needed to be done.
In one of the job descriptions under dress code they said, "We want to see hats, belts, and boots at all times." One required your own saddle, saddle bags and bed roll. V said she couldn't apply for that one because she didn't think she could take all of that on the plane. I said, "Do you know what state you have to go through to get to Colorado? NEBRASKA!" I think J wouldn't mind driving you out there to get a chance to see Nebraska again and visit the feedyard. It seems like it could be an exciting summer job if you like horses, the outdoors and taking care of people. And this would be a good time in her life to go when she doesn't have other major commitments to worry about. Sort of hope she gets an offer.
What a great opportunity, if she is a mature young woman. What fun she would have!
ReplyDeleteGreat chance! I would jump at it.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful opportunity. I hope she gets the chance to do it!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good opportunity, I had a friend guide trail rides in Banff and she said it was lots of fun but so hard when no one spoke English! A dud ranch would probly be better, lol
ReplyDeleteShe showed a lot of initiative and spunk to apply. I hope she enjoys it.
ReplyDeleteWonderful opportunity!Hope she gets on at a good place
