J is halfway through making hay. He's finished the hay here and is getting ready to start at the other farm.
The hay field out by the red barn yielded more than ever. The sod also looks the best it ever has since we moved here. There was a tremendous thunderstorm yesterday. J saw several lightning strikes. Afterwards when J went to go feed the dogs, he saw smoke rising out of the hay field.
One of the bales of hay was on fire.
It's been burning for almost 24 hours and after 1.2 inches of rain. Fortunately, it's not near anything else.
Of course Oreo had to join me on the hike out there.

That's good looking hay. We just made a hay field, hope it turns out okay. Very small only 4 acres. Hoping to get enough off of it for our horses only. We know it will be next year or so before we have to stop buying to supplement what we grow.
Oh my goodness! You just never know what lightening will hit. So glad that it wasn't anything that then caused more damage.
Your hay field is beautiful!
Wow crazy that lightning would hit a bale like that. We are getting a thunderstorm now, hope it dont hit anything.
Oh, My gosh! Good thing it wasn't near anything! Or a horse for that matter!!! YIKES!
