Sadie and Allie got to spend the night last night. I promised Sadie we could do some crafts after church. But when we woke up to snow, wind and sub freezing temperatures, church was canceled. That left lots more time for crafts.
I can't share all our secrets but we made trees, hats, and wreathes. We used, paint, hot glue, regular glue, tissue paper, construction paper, toilet paper rolls, pom poms, cotton balls, yarn, popsicle sticks, gems, and I don't remember what else. Allie didn't have as much patience with crafting but still participated. She would much rather play than craft.
We wrapped everything and put it under the tree. When Virginia and Mike came to pick them up, Sadie wanted Virginia to open hers. Surprise, a Santa hat ornament.

Crafting is so good for children. That feeling of having made something delightful is so rewarding.
I have an idea for you, this is from my childhood when we had very limited things to work with but always had paper and wax crayons.
Start with putting colors over the paper, for example light blue in an area that might be for sky, some green and any other colors imagination desires, and once the page is all covered, go over everything with black. Then use either your thumbnail or something to scrape a picture by removing the black crayon. We used to make starry skies, a Nativity scene and sometimes things like fireworks, farm scenes etc. I bet even Allie would have fun with that.
That is an impressive list of crafting supplies used :)
Nice idea from Shirley :)
