Good Fences #22

This greeted us on a fence post when we turned the horses out Tuesday after a trail ride.

What is it?? A cayenne pepper, a gecko, a dried leaf? But I think the first answer is best on how it got there. :-)

a dead critter of some sort? must have been a bird that left it behind.

Lovely lodge pole but yeah weird how something is sitting on there. Perhaps left by a bird?

I'm sorry, it looks like a dead salamander on its back. It is strange how it got up there.
