No, these are not from my garden, although I have planned beans and they are coming up nicely.
These are some my Grandmother canned a while back. "How long ago is a while?" you may ask.Well, they look fresh and smell OK. I even did a little Google research and found out some interesting information on canned food that was 100 years old. Here's the LINK if you are interested in that story. And we all know that everything you read on the internet is true.
Cooked up with a little fat back and the memories come flooding back.
Yes, memories of 1975! My mother was cleaning out her basement and found several jars of beans. This was what I alluded to yesterday with Alex. He was game enough to give them a try with me when no one else would. Neither of us became ill. At first, the beans had a little bit of an "old" taste but the longer they set out and then got reheated they tasted just like Grandma's. I guess she was a "prepper" before we knew what "prepping" was. Anyone looking forward to Thanksgiving dinner?

Wow! I think I'd have been afraid to try them, being so old...but now we know! :)
WOW Incredible! When my uncle died, there must have been a thousand jars of canned goods in the basement of the old farmhouse. I often wondered if the people who bought the farm had a dumping party. My aunt and grandmother spent many hours in the kitchen, putting up.
Wow those look surprisingly fresh!
Amazing, she musta done a good job canning them for them to stay fresh that long!
that is amazing, I am not sure I would have had the nerve to try them, but I bet you are glad you did
Wowza! That is pretty cool. Kudos for trying them out. . .I would have been scared, too!
Now that you mention it, I am not feeling the best..
