The peonies are almost over.
The ones that have bloomed are beautiful as usual.
But I think a late cold spell damaged over half the flowers.
This weekend will probably see the last of them.
My lupine is blooming as full as ever. I had read where they get weaker with age, but so far I have not seen that happening.
My daises were a little sparse last year. I transplanted a lot of volunteers from the yard and they look better this year.
My azaleas made it through another winter.
The irises are about done.
But the day lilies are just starting.
And can you believe theses scabiosa flowers are still blooming. I an interested to see how long this lasts.
I found this Elijah Blue Fescue on the clearance table at Lowe’s and thought I would give it a try. I already like it in the rock garden and am hoping to be able to divide it next year.
I was lucky to catch the impatiens on sale. They have gotten off to a good start.
And I found a pink mandevilla vine at Home Depot.
My blue salvia is starting to bloom and so far I am still liking the wattle fence.
The only problem is now it is sprouting.
And the rabbits are back at it. They are eating on my dahlias. I bought these fly covers at a Dollar General clearance last fall thinking they would be a good rabbit deterrent.
I may have waited too long to thy them out. There is still plenty of time. Hopefully, I will get some blooms later this summer.
Then I had to make one more rabbit deterrent. I had tried unsuccessfully to grow delphiniums from seeds last year. Everyone one the British gardening shows had them. Once again, I was lucky to catch them on sale at Lowe’s. But it looked like the rabbits were enjoying them too much. Hence, the rabbit proof delphinium cage.
