Free, Free, Free

Since I didn't have any more stockings to stuff, I thought I was done couponing for  awhile.  But who can resist FREE!
I had considered starting a vitamin supplement but just didn't want to bother buying one.  But when a $4 off coupon came out, I thought I would give it a try.
They were $5 each, minus 3 -$4 coupons and a $3 off $15 survey, out of pocket was just tax.  Obsession continues.

A Day in the Life

First off, Happy New Year.  New year, new computer.  It is taking some adjusting.  My other one was 9 years old.
Anyway, our county ag. agent sent out a request for the county farmers to take pictures of their day on Jan. 1.  He hopes to compile them into a book and sell it as a fund raiser for the Livestock Judging Team.  So here goes.
J started off not wanting me to take his picture.
I went to check at the barn for anything photogenic.  Apparently, I scared the calves.
With temperatures in single digits at night and no higher than 20 during the day, we have had a lot of frozen water around here.
Kit Kat doesn't seemed too bothered.  I caught him playing with a mouse at the new barn yesterday.  I hope he finally finished it off but I didn't stay around to watch.
Just a goat picture, just because we have goats.
 J did his usual feeding.
M and V came to visit so we put them to work moving some cattle.
J had a couple of cows up that he wanted me to preg check before he sold them Thursday.  M was very good help getting them up for me.
M went to the barn with J to feed the beef.
She is a heifer that didn't bred so J thought we would just feed her here.
More frozen water, every morning and evening.
Then back to the house after feeding the dogs.
 What good puppies.

Pre Tree Treat

The goats were near the house yesterday so I thought I might give them a little treat.
I haven't taken down the Christmas tree yet but I did have some branches that had been trimmed off of it.
 They came running.
There was quite a bit of jockeying around for the best branches.
Brother even had to come join in.
E, who is home for a little while over Christmas break (Yay!!!), says they are fun to watch.

Winter Weaning

Yesterday J got the cattle up at our farm up the road.
Since they were already in the smaller lot it was just a matter of walking and pushing them on into the barn lot.
From there we sorted the cows out, dewormed them,
 and turned them back out.
The calves then got dewormed and loaded onto the trailer for a short trip back to the house.
Three loads later 41 calves were ready to wean.

Just Kit Sunday #128

Kit had to come in and check out the decorations.
I don't think he liked the minimalist trees much.
He said, "Hi" to Santa and Rudolf.
And he checked out the lights on the stairs.
 And what's in those packages?
"I think they need to smell more like me."  Then he finally settled down for his Christmas picture.
Merry Christmas Eve,
From Kit Kat.

Random Happenings and Bonus Kit Kat

There was a beautiful sunrise a couple of days ago.
I can never resist running out and taking a picture.
Who could, when you have a view like this from the porch.
I had another successful trip to Dollar General.
All was on sale 2/$6.  I had 6, $2 off coupons and a $3 off $15 survey coupon making them  50 cents each.  I think I am good for detergent for awhile.
Preview of the 9 1/2 foot Christmas tree.
And as promised, Kit Kat found a box in the garage that he liked.
