It had been 6 days since I last rode Brother. Monday he did great. I trotted some and rode him outside of the round pen walking and turning working on being relaxed and soft. When I finished J got on and off twice and said that was enough.
Yesterday J went ahead and rode Brother at a walk in the round pen. They got along fine together. Brother was much more responsive to turning and stayed relaxed even with the rain pouring down on the metal roof. Have I mentioned lately how much I love having the barn?
J moved around a lot getting Brother use to shifting weight. I love how he has been keeping his head down.
I also started him with a snaffle bit. Just the bit and headstall first to get him use to carrying the bit. I still just rode with the halter. Next time I'll use the reins on the bit.
