Grapevine Project

My grapevine has finally made it all the way across the pergola.  But it is now time to prune it.
I don't think I have been pruning it back hard enough because we just get little grapes.
I still probably haven't taken enough off but it is more that usual I think.
Now what to do with all the vines.  I normally just haul them off and dump them with the other yard waste.  But this year I decided to try something different.

I saw this magical arrangement on Pinterest and thought I would give it a try.  Apparently, an artist in a French forest made this and many more natural sculptures.  This is the link HERE

So I laid out the vines and started weaving,
and twisting, and braiding,
until I had used up all my vines.  I thought about going into the woods and cutting down more, but I didn't like the idea of the extra work.  So I decided to just go with what I have and maybe add to it next year.

Not quite as magical but I like it.  I think it will look more substantial if I can beef it up next year.  Or maybe I will head to the woods after all.
