Well, maybe no snails, but fair warning, there will be a snake.
The goats were hanging around the barn the other day and with the rain, a couple of the kids decided to perch on a ledge under an overhang. I thought it made for a nice picture. And mushrooms are popping up everywhere with all this rain. Three inches so far.
Then one day J noticed the hay ring in the bull lot didn't look exactly right.
I'm sure I have said it before, but J's quote about bulls is, "whatever they don't tear up they s#%^ on."
So he rounded up some new bolts, got the tractor, pulled it up out of the muck, and fastened it back together.
It is more of a hay tear drop now instead of a hay ring, but it will work.
Then when J got a bale of hay to put in it, a snake dropped out while he was taking the net wrap off.
I looked it up when I got back to the house and it was a garter snake.
Notice I said was; J doesn't care much for snakes.
And there you have a puppy dog tail.

You really pulled out the cute stops for the "bookends" to your post. J is always having to deal with something that needs to be fixed. Really cool mushrooms. You didn't seem to mind getting close to that snake - yikes.
It's good you warned about that snake...harmless or not, I am NOT a fan. At. All. On another note...our hay rings aren't round anymore either! ;)
