Last Group Weaned

Joe decided today was the day to get the cows up here at the house and wean the calves.
He had the 4 wheeler and I had Otoelene.  She was awesome.  There was a lot of drama with the other horses running around, but she ignored it for the most part.

We made our way to the far end of hay field.  Joe stayed at the gate and called while Otoelene and I drove them.

It was about the smoothest that we have ever gotten them caught.
The barn lot was nothing but a soupy, muddy mess.  So I put Otoelene up and helped sort the cattle on foot.  It was definitely a workout.
The sorting went quick, but getting the calves into the barn so we could deworm then was a struggle.
We finally finished and had a mini cattle drive, taking the cows to the front field so they could have fence line contact with the calves.
We got done and we were just a little late for lunch.

Otoelene is back :)

That was a muddy mess. Congrats on getting the last group weaned.

Good job getting all that done by almost lunch time! Hahaha the photo of Otoelene pinning her ears at the cow facing her made me smile.
