We had a wonderful treat today, Emily came home for the weekend. Then Mike, Virginia, Sadie and Allie all came for a visit too. And a visit with Sadie just isn’t complete without a trip to the barn to see the horses.
This time I had Emily acting as photographer so I didn’t have to worry about trying to ride, hold Sadie and take pictures. She did an excellent job.
Every time I add something to the riding prep, Sadie remembers and wants to do it each time. Last week I added cleaning the front feet. Sadie remembered and wanted to do it today. She even said “other side” when we got done with the first one.
We started out with Mike spotting while I lead. That quickly changed to me riding with Sadie in front. There were lots of “more trot” requests.
After we finished, Mike set Allie up on Otoelene for her first horse ride.
Sadie might be getting some competition.
Joe got Hugo out to get him use to more activity. He is still shy about people walking up to him. But Sadie isn’t shy about trying.
She gave Otoelene two treats and wanted to give her more. But I told her Otoelene didn’t need anymore but we could give one to Hank. She really loves to feed all of the animals an she makes sure their water bowls and buckets are full. I hope this level of compassion and care continues.

Sadie is getting a good foundation!
That kind of interest has to come naturally; so many children her age are so timid around large animals.
